The celebration of the tricolour in 1848 commemorates the first flying of the Irish national flag. In 1848 the Irish tricolour was gifted to Thomas Francis Meagher by a group of French rebels sympathetic to Irish nationalism. This flag symbolises unification in Ireland.
1848 Apple Brandy combines the best of French Calvados from Chateau du Breuil with Boann's unique triple-distilled apple brandy. French and Irish apples come together harmoniously in this special historic blend.
The brandy blend consists of 45% 8-year-old Calvados, 35% 3-year-old Calvados aged in French oak barrels and 20% triple-distilled Irish apple brandy aged in bourbon barrels. As in 1848, two nations have once again come together to create a superb spirit commemorating a great moment in Irish-French history.
