Amrut decided to take a different path – to produce whisky that would meet international criteria. To refine the production processes, they invited experts from Scotland and gradually developed a style that is now among the most recognized outside traditional whisky regions.

Barley, Aging, and Unique Conditions of India

The barley used for Amrut whisky is grown at the foothills of the Himalayas, while the aging itself takes place at an altitude of over 900 m above sea level near the city of Bangalore. The tropical climate has a significant impact on the character of the whisky – aging is significantly faster than in Europe, and the so-called angel's share reaches up to 15% annually. These conditions give Amrut whisky an intense, concentrated character and a distinct flavor profile.
