Description

Amaro Averna Siciliano is an Italian bitter liqueur. Produced in Caltanissetta, Sicily, the drink belongs to the Amaro spiced bitters. It is produced by the fourth generation of the Sicilian Averna family .

Its history dates back to 1868, when it was created according to a closely guarded recipe by Benedictine monks from the Abbazia Di Santo Spirito abbey in Caltanissetta.

Averna is made from extracts of various herbs, roots and citrus fruits which are macerated in alcohol. This process gives the liqueur its characteristic bittersweet taste and dark colour.

Averna is traditionally served as a digestif after a meal, either at room temperature or with ice and a slice of lemon. It is also a popular ingredient in cocktails, where it adds depth and complexity of flavour.

This liqueur is an ideal choice for lovers of traditional Italian amaro liqueurs, who will appreciate its rich history and unique flavour profile.

It was founded in 2005 by Anthony Wills with a clear vision: to produce whisky in the way that was once common on Islay, in small quantities and with an emphasis on the origin of the raw materials and complete control over the production process. As one of the few true farm…
