Beefeater

Beefeater is a world-famous gin brand originating from the United Kingdom. Founded in 1863 by James Burrough, Beefeater is one of the oldest and best-known gin brands in the world. Based in London, it is one of the few distilleries still producing London Dry gin right in the heart of the city.

The name Beefeater arose from the visit of the Grand Duke of Tuscany to England in 1669. He said that the "guards of the Tower of London" received large rations of beef daily from the court and that they could be called "Beefeaters". ("Beef" - beef, "eaters" - eaters)
