Edradour

Edradour is best known perhaps because it is the smallest distillery in Scotland, producing only 90,000 liters a year and employing only three people. The Edradour distillery (pronounced "edradauer") was founded in 1825 in the hills of the town of Pitlochry and still retains the tradition of almost exclusively craft distillery. The heart of the series is a ten-year single malt whiskey with a non-traditional charm for the Vysočina region.

The Edradour distillery was acquired in 1982 by the giant in the field of alcoholic beverages, the Pernod Ricard concern. In the following years, three-quarters of the distillery's production was used to make blended whiskeys, such as the "House of Lords" or whiskey with the promising name "King's Ransom". It was only after Signatory acquired the distillery in 2002 that Edradour began to focus fully exclusively on the production of single-species malt whiskey. Edradour, known for experimenting with various unusual types of wood in the final stages of maturation, has created a variety of malt whiskeys that have matured in quite interesting barrels, such as "Chardonnay Finish" and "Côte de Provence" and the special "Tokaji Wood Finish".

The signatories moved their base to Edradour immediately after building a bottle factory and warehouse there. In 2003, Edradour experimented with a 50 ppm peat single malt whiskey called "Ballechin", which it launched in 2006. A new bottle of Ballechin whiskey goes on sale each year, with the last part of maturation in a barrel from another wood until it has fully matured after ten years.
