Famous Grouse, one of the most popular blended whiskeys in the world and also the best-selling Scotch whiskey in Scotland. It is a pleasantly balanced malt mixture, which was first produced in 1896. It was actually created by Matthew Gloag when asked to deliver wine to a royal banquet, which was Queen Victoria also took part.

Matthew Gloag's son William improved the mix called The Grouse and in 1905 renamed it The Famous Grouse. About eighty years later, the company received a Royal Warrant.
