Glen Scotia: The world's two biggest awards in one year

Glen Scotia is a well-known Scottish whiskey brand, founded in 1832. It is one of the smallest whiskey distilleries in Scotland, but it still managed to achieve something incredible! For the first time in history, one distillery has won two of the highest possible awards from the world of whiskey.

Glen Scotia brand

The history of this brand begins in 1832 in southwest Scotland. In a very short time, it won the hearts of many people and turned into one of the most popular manufacturers in the Campbeltown area. It has helped make the region one of Scotland's whiskey giants.

Shortly after the founding of Glen Scotia, there was a "boom" in whiskey production in the town, and in 1835 there were 29 distilleries in the town. Such a large supply was created, but the demand was small and until 1929 only 3 distilleries remained, including Glen Scotia.

The distillery went through a very difficult and difficult period, whether it was a crisis, a change of ownership or production stopped several times. Everything did not change until 2014, when it was bought by the Loch Lomond Group, which invested and developed this legendary brand.

The two biggest awards in the world

Glen Scotia was awarded the "Best Scotch Whiskey Distillery of 2021" and also received the "Best Whiskey in the World" medal. It's the first time a distillery has won these two awards in one year! These awards prove that even a small distillery can do a lot.

The medal for the best whiskey in the world was won by the magnificent and primarily delicate Glen Scotia 25-year-old Scottish Single Malt whiskey.
