Ron Malteco

Malteco rums come from Guatemala. This brand was founded in 1930 by the Botran family. Since 1993, rums have been produced from sugar cane at the Licorera distillery in the Quetzaltenango area, a country privileged for its geographical location, rich in wildlife and history.

The sugar cane used to make this rum is grown and harvested in San Andrés, but the molasses is then fermented in Quetzaltenango, where distillation and aging take place between 10 and 25 years. At an altitude of 2,300 meters and at climatic temperatures of 18 to 28 °C, Malteco rums are aged in old white oak barrels.
