Santos Dumont is an exceptional rum named in honor of aviation pioneer Alberto Santos Dumont (1873–1932). He was a visionary, inventor, and a man of noble style – a symbol of Brazilian pride and European elegance. His father, originally from France, was the "king" of coffee and sugarcane production in Brazil. The family utilized technical innovations to enhance farming efficiency, and Santos himself became famous as the creator of the first powered airplane. He is also credited with the invention of wristwatches – he asked Louis Cartier for a watch that he could wear while flying, without the need to hold it in his hands.
