Whiskey The Glenlivet Founder's Reserve draws from the tradition of free-style whiskey production according to George Smith, who, when founding the distillery, selected casks of various ages without age statements.
Today, this symbolizes the Founder’s Reserve brand – a blend of spirits of different ages that mature in a combination of traditional (refill) oak and first-fill American white oak casks.
Released in 2014, Founder’s Reserve serves as a replacement for the 12-year-old version in new markets and as a tribute to the founder's vision. The premium style of the whiskey highlights a creamy texture and a fruity-citrus profile – just as George Smith intended back in 1824.
The emphasis on smoothness and accessibility positions it within Glenlivet's mainstream portfolio, which is the second best-selling single malt whiskey in the world.
The aroma is fresh creamy vanilla, sweet orange, pear drops, banana notes, and subtle honey. The taste is a combination of ripe pears, citrus fruits and caramelized apples with a soft texture and vanilla pudding.
