Tia Maria

Tia Maria is an iconic coffee liqueur with a rich history. According to legend, its origins date back to the 17th century when a young Spanish aristocrat fled Jamaica during a conflict, with her loyal maid saving the family treasure – the recipe for this liqueur. In honor of her savior, she named it "Tia Maria," which means "Aunt Maria."

In modern times, the liqueur was rediscovered in the 40s by Dr. Kenneth Leigh Evans, who began its commercial production in Jamaica. In the 80s, the brand gained international popularity, partly thanks to an advertising campaign featuring model Iman.

In 2005, the Tia Maria brand was acquired by Pernod Ricard, but in 2009 it was sold to the Italian family-owned company Illva Saronno, a renowned producer of liqueurs. Since then, production has moved to Italy, where Tia Maria is still made today.

This liqueur is crafted from high-quality Jamaican coffee beans, vanilla and rum, giving it its distinctive rich flavor and aroma. Tia Maria is beloved not only as a standalone drink but also as an ingredient in various cocktails and desserts.
