AnCnoc Peatheart

AnCnoc Peatheart comes from the Knockdhu distillery, founded in 1894 in the Highlands region. The distillery produces whisky under the name AnCnoc (so that people do not confuse their bottlings with those from the Knockando distillery).

It is one of two peated whiskies currently offered by the brand. It is released in batches, with Batch 3 being the latest version. It is made from barley peated at 34 PPM (phenol parts per million) and the resulting whisky has a smoke level of 13.3 PPM.

The whisky is matured exclusively in ex-bourbon casks and is bottled at 46 % ABV, without chill filtration or coloring.

The aroma is dominated by pure smoke, followed by a wave of fruit (pears, apples, lime) with hints of tobacco or chocolate and a floral finish. The taste reveals a smoky profile complemented by notes of leather, stewed apples, dark chocolate, vanilla, and lemon juice. The finish is warm and long-lasting, with subtle floral notes and dry smoke.
