Macallan Classic Cut 2024 Edition is the eighth edition of this limited annual edition. Each year, the master distiller selects specific casks and chooses the exact alcohol strength to showcase the unique profile of this whisky.
The whisky was matured in a combination of American ex-bourbon casks and European ex-sherry Oloroso casks, each contributing its own unique flavor profile. It was bottled at an alcohol strength of 52,4 %, without coloring, but the manufacturer does not provide information on whether it was cold filtered or not.
The aroma has a distinctive vanilla aroma, followed by aromas of orchard fruits (green apple, pear), marzipan, citrus peel, fresh herbs, and sweet oak. The taste is intense but harmonious, with notes of vanilla pudding, oak, milk chocolate, green apple, cinnamon and black pepper on the tongue. After pouring, subtle notes of exotic fruit and citrus appear. The finish is long and bittersweet.
