Rana XO Elixir
RANA XO Elixir is a carefully balanced Caribbean rum spirit, based on molasses distillates from the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, and Trinidad, with a dominant share of Dominican origin.
Distillation takes place at Alcoholes Finos Dominicanos (AFD) in the Dominican Republic, where local sugarcane is used. Other parts of the blend come from Venezuela (Sofa Distillery) – sugarcane grows here between the Andes mountains, the Orinoco River basin, and the Caribbean Sea – and from Trinidad.
The base consists of 100% column distillate, aged 3–5 years in bourbon barrels. This process imparts smoothness, roundness, and a flavor profile typical of Spanish-style Caribbean rum distillates. This style emerged in former Spanish colonies after the lifting of the rum production ban in the 18th century. Unlike heavier "English" rums, Spanish rums are more elegant, smoother, and often distilled in column stills.
This approach is a blend of tradition, passion, and artisanal precision – every drop of RANA is the result of a balance between local heritage and the modern art of rum production.
The flavor profile is built on a natural harmony of sweeter and woody notes without unnecessary sharpness.
The aroma is rich and inviting – a combination of vanilla, coconut, cocoa, oak, and tobacco notes that create a warm and elegant impression. The taste is harmonious and subtly sweet – dominated by vanilla, oak, roasted coconut, caramel, and a hint of spice. The flavor is rounded, smooth, and long-lasting, with a creamy undertone.
RANA XO Elixir is meant for slow sipping neat or on the rocks, but it also excels in premium mixed drinks, where it retains its character.
