Bumbu

Bumbu Rum is produced in the historic Barbados distillery, which was founded in 1893 and has been in continuous operation for more than 120 years. Our rum is distilled in two continuous stills. The yeast used in fermentation is a distillery secret that dates back to 1840 when some of the original iron pot stills were cast.

Bumbu's original heritage is not only historical but also geological. Unlike most Caribbean islands formed by volcanoes, Barbados was formed by coral reefs. Here, groundwater is purified as it is forced through natural limestone, making Barbados' water some of the highest quality in the world.
