Iteration V takes all the complexity we have encountered so far and simplifies it in these final steps. With the ability to innovate and the skill to create flexibly aged stocks, this has created the final whisky of this edition.
The bottlings are bottled at 53,5 % alcohol and come in gift boxes.

Iteration I is the origin for all whiskies in this series. Barley is harvested annually from the farmers' fields before undergoing the malting process. The resulting malted barley provides the main raw material for the whisky.
The whisky is bottled at 46,7 % alcohol and comes in a gift box.

Iteration II is the first phase of distillery production. Malted barley from the field goes through three key processes: mashing, fermentation and distillation. These stages further multiply potential variables and unpredictable factors such as gravity, temperatures and cut points, which require a deep understanding by distillation technicians to ensure consistent distillate production.
This floral-fruity spirit with a lowland character is then matured in oak casks. The bottles are bottled at 48,3 % alcohol and come in gift boxes.

Iteration III in this series demonstrates another primary source of variability within the parallel barreling process. A number of variables must be considered in the barrel racking process, from the type of oak and the environment in which it grows to the technical challenges of toasting, charring, and seasoning. All of these factors can have a significant butterfly effect on the resulting whisky if the natural chaos in the casks is not managed by the cooper.

Iteration IV focuses on the longest, most complex, and least understood process of maturation. Barrels filled with new spirit undergo years and decades of interactions with the surrounding environment, creating the unpredictable structure of the whisky to come. Those who store the casks pass them on to the next generation. Seasonal variations in temperature and humidity, type and location of storage provide us with considerable complexity that must be managed. Barrels were sought from the darkest and coldest locations in Bladnoch's warehouses to amplify these effects in The Ageing.
