Casco Viejo Reposado Tequila
Casco Viejo Reposado Tequila is aged for two months in 200 litre American oak barrels, where ideal contact with the wood is ensured. The agave content is 100 % Blue Weber. This tequila has a dark amber colour. You can safely detect blue agave, wood and fresh spice notes in its flavour.
Don Agustin tequilas are produced by the Mexican family company Tequila Supremo, founded in Arandas in 1938 by Don Jose Augustin Camarena under the original name of 'La Arandina'. The tequilas produced here come from Los Altos, where there is fertile, iron-rich soil.
The Camarena family is one of the four most important agave growers in Mexico. The company owns more than 1,000 hectares of land on which it grows more than three million agaves. Casa Tequilera Casco Viejo uses traditional ovens made of clay, brick and wood to cook the agave. Here it is boiled for 24 hours and left to cool for a further 24 hours. The fermentation or fermentation process takes place in open tanks without further heating.
This is the first zero carbon impact distillery in Mexico that practices sustainable agriculture and water reclamation.
Bottles are filled at 38 % alcohol with a volume of 0,7 l.
