Chateau de Jau Côtes du Roussillon Blanc 2021
Chateau de Jau Côtes du Roussillon Blanc is a French white wine made from grape varieties Vermentino, Grenache Blanc, and Maccabeo, vintage 2021. The vineyard area of Agly Valley, Côtes du Roussillon, France. The grapes grow on clay-limestone soil in a Mediterranean climate.
This important vineyard area, covering approximately 100 hectares, has been cared for by Cistercian monks since the 12th century and is now owned by the Dauré family. The area offers ideal climatic conditions for viticulture: sunlight allowing the slate bedrock to retain heat during the day and provide it to the vineyards at night, as well as the Mediterranean Sea, which tempers summer heat with year-round northern winds for healthy grape ripening.
The grape berries are hand-harvested early in the morning. Different varieties are picked and placed into wooden barrels, where they mature in the winery's cellar. We recommend serving with roasted and grilled fish, grilled shrimp, cuttlefish, and pasta.
