Chateau de Jau Côtes du Roussillon Blanc 2021
Chateau de Jau Côtes du Roussillon Blanc is a French white wine made from the Vermentino, Grenache Blanc and Maccabeo grape varieties, year 2021. Agly Valley Wine Region, Côtes du Roussillon, France. The grapes grow on clay-limestone soil in a Mediterranean climate.
This important vineyard area of approximately 100 hectares has been cared for by Cistercian monks since the 12th century and is today owned by the Dauré family. The area offers ideal climatic conditions for viticulture: sunlight allowing the shale bedrock to retain heat during the day and provide it to the vineyards at night, as well as the Mediterranean Sea, which tempers the summer heat with a year-round northerly wind for a healthy ripening of the grapes.
The grapes are picked by hand early in the morning. Different varieties are harvested and divided into wooden barrels, where they are matured in the winery's cellar. We recommend serving with baked and grilled fish, grilled shrimp, cuttlefish and pasta.
