Chateau Selešťany Trnkovica

True fruit distillate Chateau Selešťany Trnkovica made from common sloe. The taste of the distillate from sloe is silky bitter-sweet (so-called blue), with an exceptionally long and pleasant finish of flavors. It is a very rare and noble drink, and even the opportunity to taste this rarity is considered a great honor.

Common sloe is about 2 m tall, very branched shrub with thick thorns and fruits - sloes, which ripen into black, blue, bitter drupes, that wrinkle after the first frosts, acquiring a sweet-bitter taste – ripening. Only from this moment is harvesting recommended for further processing, as the preparation of the mash is very demanding and the yield of the distillate is poor.

The distillate was bottled with an alcohol content of 52 % and the bottle volume is 0.5l.
