Clairin is the name of a brand as well as a type of alcohol. The Clairin brand produces an alcohol called Clairin, which is distilled and made from sugarcane in Haiti, undergoing the same distillation process as Agricole rum. Local producers commonly refer to it as rum.

There are about 600 mini-distilleries in Haiti that produce Clairin. These distilleries are mostly small shacks scattered throughout the countryside.

Clairin is made from local varieties of sugarcane that are non-hybridized and free from chemical interventions. It is spontaneously fermented without artificially added yeasts using a traditional distillation technique from the mid-18th century. Clairin is organic, unfiltered, and its production operates on a 100% ecological basis.
