Equiano

The Equiano brand is named after the Nigerian writer and Olaudah Equian, who was a prominent aboliconist, traveler and one of the first slave freedom fighters in Africa. He played a key role in the movement to abolish the death penalty.

By trading in rum, Olaudah redeemed himself from slavery and was able to engage in the slave liberation movement. That's why Equiano Rum Co donates 5 % of its profits to promoting equality.

Equiano produces first-class Caribbean-African blended rums. They are made from a mixture of rums from the Gray's distillery on the African island of Mauritius and the Foursquare on the island of Barbados.
