Grand Empereur Brandy VSOP
Grand Empereur Brandy VSOP is an amber-coloured brandy, hiding a long story behind it, which (like all good stories) starts with a tragedy.
In the 1870s, phylloxera (aphid) decimated French vineyards. It was a severe blow to winemaking, and thus to the production of brandy and cognac. It took years to replant the vineyards and harvest a crop suitable for distillation and ageing and, above all, valuable. In the 1880s, consumers had a simple choice.
More precisely, there were only two brandies to choose from. They could choose between a brandy straight from the pot still and an older brandy that had been distilled before the phylloxera and aged in oak casks ever since. The older brandy was labelled 'Grand eau-de-vie of the imperial era', heralding the birth of the Grand Empereur.
This brandy is the result of a well-kept secret of distillation and maturation that has been handed down from generation to generation. There is a long history behind the brandy, whose makers have been creating their own brand since the 19th century and which stands out for the quality and diversity of its vineyards. Grand Empereur VSOP is an exceptional composition. It is a brandy for connoisseurs.
The bottles are bottled at 40 % alcohol with a volume of 0,7 l. They come in stylish gift cartons.
