Hernö: Swedish excellence in the bottle
It all started with a passion that grew when young Jon Hillgren left for London. He found a job and started making a living as a bartender. There he discovered the enchanting world of gin.
After years of research and study of gin, a university degree in political science, and the work of a bureaucrat, Jon had a grand plan in his head to establish his own brand of gin. In 2011, he founded Hernö Gin and bought a farm in Dala with his wife.
A year later, he asked his wife, sister, and her husband, Mathias, to invest in his imposing dream. Thanks to their generosity, he was able to build the first distillery in which he installed the Kierstin copper distillation apparatus.
In December 2012, Hernö Gin was launched in three local Systembolaget stores. People stood in long lines to get at least one bottle of this gin. The turning point came in 2013, when Hernö Dry Gin became the most awarded at the International Gin Masters competition. Thus began the magnificent story of today's world-famous Hernö brand.
Today, the brand is the world's leading producer of craft gin and also the most acclaimed gin brand in Europe.
Liquid pleasure in a bottle
When you combine fantastic taste, silky scent, exceptional quality and minimalist design, gin Hernö is created. In each bottle you will find a good piece of Swedish nature, from which these gins are meticulously made. Each ingredient undergoes strict quality control and is sorted by hand.
The founder of the Hernö brand told us a big newspaper! He was called by an outraged delegate from The Spirit Business Gin Masters, who announced that they had won seven Master Awards and 13 Gold Medals! They thus broke their own record from 2020, which no one has ever broken before.

1, Hernö Dry Gin

3, Hernö Old Tom Gin
Very interesting 43 % gin with an even more interesting story. The design of the bottle dates back to the 18th century, when gin was banned. A black wooden cat placed above the bar meant that they served illegal drinks in the establishment. Legend has it that when a cat had a penny in its mouth, a gin was served through a hidden tube in one of its paws. Hernö Old Tom Gin has won more than 3 awards!
4, Hernö Juniper Cask Gin
