Popular Japanese blended malt whiskeys include, for example, Toguchi 12 whiskey, which has both Scottish and Canadian characteristics, but a typical Japanese soul. It is full of woody intensity and grain aroma mixed with tones of peat. Yamazakura 16 whiskey is intended primarily for the European market. It is made from 80 percent corn and 20 percent malt.
