Kilchoman Fino Sherry Cask Matured

Whisky Kilchoman Fino Sherry Matured is a limited edition and the first global release of this type of cask maturation. The whisky was fully matured in ex-sherry casks of the Fino type, previously used by Bodega Miguel Martin in Spain, in 11 fresh casks and in 1 cask after re-filling.

This release follows other limited editions, which included experimental casks after maturation from Kilchoman, fully matured in casks previously used for port, madeira, sauternes, and red wine. This particular release is globally limited to 10,500 bottles!

The base whisky includes casks of ex-sherry Oloroso, a medium-dry style of sherry that imparts a range of cooked and dried fruit influences to the whisky. Sherry Fino differs in that it is a drier, saltier type of sherry that adds layers of fragrant green apples to the Kilchoman whisky, beautifully balancing with citrus sweetness, cooked fruit, and smoke from seaweed peat.

Bottles were filled at an alcohol content of 50% and come in a gift box. No chill filtration or coloring was used in the production.
