La Maison du Rhum Ile de la Reunion 2011/2021 Batch No.4
It is a true treasure of rums. La Maison du Rhum Ile de la Reunion 2011/2021 Batch No.4 is again an exceptional rum for any rum collection.
Reunion is a charming island in the Indian Ocean and is known for traditional molasses as well as agricole rums. The traditional and renowned Riviére du Mat distillery combines two types of distillation - single distillation (aromatic rums) and triple distillation (light rums).
It primarily uses barrels made of French oak, which previously held top-quality cognac. This rum matured in the tropical environment of the distillery on the island of Reunion, aging 10 years in French oak barrels and cognac casks. Distilled in 2011 and bottled in 2021.
Limited number of 3,224 bottles.
The "La Maison du R(h)um" collection brings together the most famous distilleries from various countries. Whether it’s rum, ron, or a sugarcane or molasses-based distillate: this series highlights the differences in production processes and emphasizes the diversity of distillates.
Different distillation techniques, aging, and barrel treatment lead to a unique and individual flavor profile of each variety.
At first, you will sense aromas of exotic fruits in this rum, followed by vanilla and light tobacco. The taste becomes increasingly spicy, and exotic fruit reappears.
Bottles are filled with an alcohol content of 49% with a volume of 0.7 l.
In terms of presentation, the bottle is accompanied by a gift tube and a colorful label, all in a retro colonial style. The distillation date and bottling date, type of barrels used, name of the distillery, type of distillation equipment: all of this is carefully listed on the label of each bottle, demonstrating that the brand's designers have perfectly understood the demands of today’s spirit enthusiasts.
