Lazy Dodo + 1 glass
Lazy Dodo hails from Mauritius, specifically from Pamplemousses, a district located in the north-western part of the island. The rum is carefully produced on one of Mauritius' charming plantations. The natural aroma and flavour of sugar cane and exotic fruits are acquired during the distillation process.
This is followed by maturation in French oak barrels for a minimum of 12 years, which adds to the complexity of the rum.
Lazy Dodo has an amber colour and promising fresh exotic notes. The palate is well-aged, carrying citrus and woody nuances. Simply put, Lazy Dodo is the perfect combination of the flavours of Mauritius.
Interestingly, the rum bears the name of the Dodo bird - the Dront the flightless (Mauritian), which used to live on the island of Mauritius, but unfortunately is now extinct. The Dodo had short legs, could not fly and had a beak up to 23 cm long, hard and hooked. The dodo was not at all afraid of humans and, as it did not fly, was easy prey. The first sightings of the dronto were by the Portuguese, who landed on the island in 1505. The name dodo comes from the old Portuguese word doudou, which means "fool".
The bottles were bottled at 40 % alcohol with a volume of 0,7 l and come in a gift box with a glass.
