The unique whisky Loch Lomond 25-Year-Old was created to celebrate the 151st Open Championship at Royal Liverpool as a tribute to the oldest and most prestigious golf tournament. This 25-year-old single malt whisky was distilled in 1998 from unpasteurized malt in the unique Straight Neck distilleries.
The whisky first matured in filled ex-bourbon casks made of American oak, then 24 years quietly aged in the shadow of Ben Lomond and finally 12 months matured in the finest Oloroso sherry casks.
The final maturation in Oloroso casks adds layers of rich dried fruits and nuts to the typical orchard fruit notes that arise in the distillers. You can expect a complex flavor profile of ripe peaches and juicy pineapple with dried citrus peel, raisins, toasted almonds, and warming spices, leading to a long-lasting sweetness of melted brown sugar and vanilla in the finish.
Bottled at cask strength and unfiltered cold with an alcohol content of 43.2% and natural color. The bottle comes in a wooden gift box. The bottle volume is 0.7 l.
