Masso Antico Primitivo Appassito
Italian Primitivo Masso Antico Appassito is a red semi-sweet wine. The grapes used for this Primitivo are grown using the Alberello method, which has ancient origins and is typical of the Mediterranean region of Italy. This method was developed to compensate for the lack of water and the very hot climate. Today, this very rare method is an important part of the cultural and ethnological heritage of Apulia. The grapes are left to ripen on the vines and are then selectively harvested and dried on special nets to obtain a concentrated juice extract.
The grapes, dried on the seashore and slowly aged in French oak barrels for 6 months, result in an excellent full-bodied wine with fine tannins. Subtle vanilla notes are released on the finish.
We recommend serving at 16°-18°C. The wine is suitable for grilled meats or aged cheeses.
