Nixta Licor De Elote
Nixta Licor De Elote is a Mexican corn liqueur made from fine cacahuazintle corn grown in the high valleys and at the foot of the Nevado de Toluca volcano.
Nixta is produced at Destilería y Bodega Abasolo, where they honor Mexican corn culture and the ancestral craft of nixtamalization - a 4,000-year-old Mesoamerican cooking technique that reveals the deepest flavors and aromas of corn.
To make Nixta liqueur, the season's finest tender corn is macerated in an exquisite corn spirit and sweetened with clarified sweet wort - both made from native cacahuazintle corn grown near the distillery at more than 7,000 feet above sea level.
Pure cacahuazintle corn is used in two different stages of development: sweet cacahuazintle corn is macerated and prepared to extract all of its delicate flavour. Mature cacahuazintle kernels are nixtamalized to extract the sweet wort and alcohol. These ingredients combine to make Nixta Licor de Elote an aromatic and versatile liqueur that is true to its origins.
The bottles are filled at 30 % alcohol with a volume of 0,7 l.
