Legend from 1752 - Riga Black Balsam . The creator of the recipe is a pharmacist and blacksmith from Riga, Abraham Kunce. The color of this drink is brownish black, the taste is hot and reminiscent of a medicinal mixture.

Riga Black Balsam is one of those special drinks whose recipe is secret. All we know is that it contains 24 ingredients - flowers and buds of linden and birch, valerian root, raspberries, cranberries, ginger and many other roots, leaves, flower buds and alcohol. This herbal balm matures in oak barrels.

You can enjoy Riga Black Balsam in various culinary ways and test a number of rules of modern mixology . Add it as an extra ingredient to thick mango, peach or banana juice. However, it also tastes great in combination with cola, lemonade and cherry drinks, in combination with refreshing iced cocktails, but also in a hot way with currant juice.
