The GlenAllachie 35 Year Old Single Malt
Scotch whisky distillery The GlenAllachie today announces its oldest and most prestigious single malt whisky: The GlenAllachie 35 Year Old.
Owned and managed by acclaimed whisky maker Billy Walker, the leading independent producer has 52 years of experience under its belt. During his varied career, Walker has earned an unsurpassed reputation for his outstanding cask handling skills and flair for flavour.
This 35-year-old whisky was created to represent the distillery's unwavering commitment to craft cask production and boutique, small-batch whiskies.
Armed with decades of experience, Walker selected six exceptional whisky casks dating back to the summer of 1989 to use for this memorable release.
This exceptional, antique single malt whisky was matured in three Pedro Ximénez casks, one Oloroso cask and two virgin oak casks. The resulting spirit promises to be a delicious symphony of rich mocha aromas, ripe pineapple, sweet spice and treacle tart.
Handmade in the UK, the sturdy gift box features hand-carved detailing on the base, a luxurious moleskin base, a solid brass 'angle', a plaque celebrating the cask selection, and a removable oak base to store the decanter.
The whisky is accompanied by a booklet with Walker's handwritten notes on the story behind the bottling and his cask selection. The packaging is made from FSC-certified paper made from used malt.
The sleek, broad-shouldered decanter "gives the ultra-premium whisky the dignity it deserves," referring to the classic GlenAllachie bottle. Product details are printed directly onto the glass in gold ink.
The premium wooden stopper features gold foil and the brand's slogan "whisky in good hands" around its circumference.
This 35-year-old whiskey proudly presents itself with a high strength of 48 % ABV, natural color and no chill filtering, which the distillery says "allows the liquid inside the decanter to speak for itself."
