The Whistler El Misterioso 16 Year Old

Irish single malt whiskey The Whistler El Misterioso 16-year-old is a mysterious whiskey with final maturation in rare Palo Cortado sherry casks. This sherry type first matures into fino or amontillado, but inexplicably changes and oxidises with age, much like oloroso sherry. This phenomenon cannot be described other than "Es muy misterioso..." Think of it as a wine that carries some of the body and flavor of Oloroso, but also the crispiness of Amontillado. The fact that only 1-2% of the grapes can naturally be transformed into Palo Cortado sherry says how unique are casks in which this whiskey was matured.

The Whistler El Misterioso 16 years old is an amazingly smooth whiskey. Distilled three times, it was first aged for 14 years in second-fill bourbon casks and for the next 2 years it was finally matured in the mysterious Palo Cortado sherry casks. Do not hesitate to enjoy its mysterious taste!
