Naga Shani PX is a exclusive edition Indonesian rum from the Naga distillery, bottled in 0,7 liter bottles with an alcohol content of 46 % ABV, with a worldwide limited production of only 4,236 bottles.
The rum is produced from molasses using the traditional Batavia Arrack method – fermenting molasses with red rice and then distilling it in pot stills based on Chinese techniques.
It is aged for 10 years in the tropical climate of Indonesia, mainly in ex-bourbon barrels made of American oak, which gives it its basic vanilla and woody palette. This is followed by final maturation – 15 months in sweet Spanish Pedro Ximénez (PX) sherry barrels, which significantly influences the sweet and fruity character (figs, raisins).
Distillation in Naga pot stills produces a smoother, fuller spirit. The subsequent years of maturation take place first in the Caribbean climate, where there is an intense exchange with the cask, and then in a European environment during the PX finish, which harmonizes the rum and creates a fresh sweetness with a Spanish influence.
The resulting bottle is unfiltered, without artificial additives, preserving the authentic character of the product.
