Legacy Casks Edition is the first official series of single cask and small batch bottlings under the management of Elixir Distillers. The Tormore distillery, led by Polly Logan, has prepared limited editions from the vintages of 2003, 2009, and 2012. The vintage 2012 was selected for its youthful intensity and beautiful connection of fruity character with sweet oak. It is bottled at cask strength 60.6 %, without filtration or coloring, preserving maximum authenticity.
On the nose, the whisky presents lemony barley malt, coconut cookies, thyme, and sweet charred oak. The palate reveals a vibrant mix of grilled lemons, poached pears, buttery pastries, and vanilla-caramel fudge. The finish is long-lasting, with hints of charred oak and a citrus touch.
Best enjoyed neat at room temperature to showcase its intense fruitiness and spiciness. Due to the high alcohol content (60.6 %), it is recommended to add a few drops of water to reveal the softer layers of sweetness and herbs. With its character, the whisky is also attractive to collectors, as it is the first series of Legacy cask bottlings in Tormore's history.
