Rum Fire is a high-ester white overproof rum from the traditional Jamaican distillery Hampden Estate. This rum has been favored by bartenders around the world for its distinctive flavor and flammability.
10-14 day fermentation in fresh air is not the only way Hampden promotes the growth of bacteria and ester production in their rum. The producer also adds a significant amount of rich acidic residue that remains in the distillation column from previous distillations. In the end, Rum Fire contains an incredible 500 to 570 ppm (parts per million) of esters, placing it in the LORK category. The water used to produce the rum is sourced through a patented mountain water collection system, returning only pure water to the country.
