Hampden Estate presents Hampden 1753 rum : a new bottle named in honour of the year the distillery was founded. Hampden 1753 is a celebration of nearly three centuries of traditional craftsmanship and is a living tribute to Jamaica's extraordinary distillery heritage.
Joining the core range of official bottles, this new addition to the range is an authentic expression of the original Hampden style and offers the perfect introduction to the distillery's unique aromatic world.
Hampden Estate - 1753 is a remarkable creation from the Hampden distillery, featuring a high ester content of 476g/hl, placing it in the HLCF (Hampden Light Continental Flavoured) category. This rum reflects the centuries of experience of Hampden, which is renowned for producing rums with a distinctive character and intense flavour thanks to traditional fermentation and distillation methods.
Despite its youth, Hampden Estate - 1753 offers impressive depth. Its meticulously conjured aromatic profile combines mineral notes reminiscent of some Islay single malts with a typically Jamaican exotic generosity. The palate displays complex and contrasting flavours that combine intensity and elegance, resulting in an unforgettable tasting experience.
Built around 1750, the Hampden distillery originally belonged to the Scotsman Archibald Sterling. Hampden is famous for its heavy rums distilled in copper stills. Fermentation is long and natural (no commercial yeasts are used).
Bottles are bottled at 46 % alcohol with a 0,7 l capacity and come in stylish gift cartons.
