Macallan 18 Year Old Double Cask
Macallan used not just one, but two types of casks when aging the Macallan 18 Year Old Double Cask, which was released as part of the Double Cask series!
Oloroso sherry was used to flavour a combination of American and European oak casks, with the former adding vanilla nuances while the latter brought out the characteristic Macallan spice. Another fantastic single malt distillery whisky from Speyside, Scotland!
Macallan 18 Year Old Double Cask uses a double maturation process. This double maturation adds characteristic flavour and aromatic qualities to the whisky. After 18 years of maturation, whiskies from different casks are blended to achieve the desired flavour profile. The whisky is then stored for a further period to harmonise it.
Before packaging, the whisky may be diluted with pure water to the required alcoholic strength, which is 43 % alcohol content. The bottles are presented in gift boxes.
