The Oliver&Oliver company succeeded in a very interesting piece in the form of Opthimus Res Laude rum, which is mixed using the Solera method from rums up to 15 years old. They matured mainly in oak barrels after bourbon. It is a sweeter rum from the Dominican Republic, with a rich aroma with predominant notes of honey.
The name "Res Laude" means "with praise". This should indicate the exceptionality and quality of this rum.
The taste has complex notes of vanilla, caramel and chocolate, which are clearly recognizable on the palate. Later, notes of coffee and dark chocolate are added with a hint of oak. Opthimus 15 years old is extremely sweet and rich, at the same time soft, almost velvety. In the end, the sweetness of the caramel alternates with the typical spicy taste, which has a very impressive effect.
