The rum was distilled on the island of Mauritius under the supervision of an experienced Master Distiller. The sugar cane from which it is made also comes from the island and is grown in nutrient-rich volcanic soil. Currently, it is cultivated on more than 70,000 hectares of the island by nearly 30,000 small farmers.
