Plantation Guatemala & Belize Gran Anejo Rum
Plantation Guatemala & Belize Gran Anejo Rum is one of the newest additions to the Plantation portfolio. It is a blend of rums from Guatemala and Belize in Central America.
Guatemala produces its rums from fermented sugar cane juice, instead of using traditional molasses. The rum ages for 3 years in ex-bourbon oak barrels, using the Solera system. Belize rum ages in ex-sherry oak barrels for 4 to 6 years, also using the Solera system.
Solera refers to a set of rums used in the production of rum. It involves stacking barrels on top of each other, with the oldest rum in the bottom barrel and the youngest rum in the top barrel. The rums are then blended in the final process, and the label of the rum usually indicates the oldest rum.
The rum is bottled at an alcohol content of 42 % and a volume of 0.7l. The bottle comes in a stylish gift box.
The rum has an aroma and flavor of aromatic teas, chocolate, and distinctive sweet licorice. It pairs excellently with cigars. It is recommended to enjoy Plantation Guatemala & Belize with Montecristo No2 or Hoyo de Monterrey.
