Sake

Sake is a very old and traditional alcoholic drink, without which we cannot even imagine Japanese cuisine and history. It is a very high-quality rice wine, which is traditionally served in wooden or ceramic containers. Their volume is approximately 5 centiliters and they are called Čoko.

The first mention of sake goes deep into Japanese history, where it was first mentioned in the 3rd century! Although it seems that sake is not demanding on ingredients, it is not quite true, because you cannot use any kind of rice to make it. A special type of rice is used for its production, which is long-grained, has a high starch content and is thoroughly ground.
