Veuve Clicquot Rosé
Pronunciation: { Viuv Klik-(u)o Rozé }In 1818, Madame Clicquot invented the first known blended Champagne Rosé, which can be enjoyed and shared today for its liveliness and fruity varieties.
Made from 50 to 60 different ingredients, the cuvée is based on the traditional Yellow Label blend of 50 % to 55 % Pinot Noir, 15 % to 20 % Meunier, 28 % to 33 % Chardonnay.
The blend is then complemented by a 12 % still red wine, using red grapes to add fruitiness. Aged for a minimum of 3 years in Crayères Veuve Clicquot.
The nose of the wine is generous and delicate, initially dominated by aromas of fresh red fruits (raspberries, wild strawberries, cherries, blackberries) which evolve towards notes of dried fruits and baked goods: almonds, apricots, brioche.
On the palate, the opening is fresh, then gives way to fruity harmony. The wine is gourmand, full-bodied and tastes like a delicacy.
