Bowmore 12 Year Old
Pronunciation: {Boumór}Bowmore 12 Year Old is an icon from the Scottish island of Islay, originating from the oldest distillery on the island (founded in 1779). The whisky is matured in a combination of American bourbon and European Oloroso sherry casks, which gives it its characteristic layers of dough, sweetness and depth of aromatic tones.
The nose reveals a delicate interplay of coastal smoke, honey and lemon notes intertwined with sweet floral nuances and a hint of sea salt. Warm fruit notes appear on the palate – orange, vanilla, honey, tropical fruit, complemented by smoke, sweet caramel and a burnt wood depth. The finish is long and delicately smoky, with mineral and salty accents reminiscent of coastal currents.
Bowmore 12 Year Old is an excellent introduction to the world of peated/smoked Islay whiskies — it tastes great neat, with just a few drops of water to open up the aroma, or with ice to bring out the smoky and honey notes. It is also suitable as an accompaniment to a thoughtful evening drink — ideal for enjoying on its own, less suitable for cocktails if you don't want to lose its delicately balanced profile.
The bottles are filled with 40 % alcohol by volume, have a volume of 0,7 l, and come in gift boxes.
