Fill up your tasting glass and take your experience to the next level!
Whisky Bruichladdich Bere Barley is distilled entirely from Bere barley, an ancient Scottish barley grown on several local farms in Orkney and Islay. This was an experimental edition from 2013 with subsequent 10-year maturation in a combination of first-fill bourbon casks (80%) and second-fill Pauillac wine casks (20%).
The nose reveals a delicate sweetness – apple, lemon drops, peach sorbet, accompanied by a doughy undertone, fresh bread, and herbs.
On the palate, it opens with a fruity mix: pear, melon, pink grapefruit, citrus peels, complemented by rye bread, vanilla, white pepper, and honey nuances. The finish is long, with echoes of citrus, honey, and oak spices.
The best experience comes from neat whisky at room temperature – it reveals its deep rich flavor and terroir. A few drops of water can awaken the fruity, herbal, and mineral elements. Ideal for themed tastings or as a collector's piece that carries the spirit of Islay in a glass.
Bottles are filled with an alcohol content of 50% and have a volume of 0.7 l.
