Whisky Bruichladdich Islay Barley 2014 8 Year Old is a pure result of the "farm to bottle" philosophy – it is made exclusively from Concerto and Propino barley, grown on eight farms on Islay, all within an 11-mile radius of the distillery.
It was distilled in 2014 and subsequently aged for approximately 8 years. The aging took place primarily in bourbon casks (80%), with a complement of sherry (5%) and wine casks (15%).
On the nose, the whisky offers a grainy-malty character with notes of apricots, peaches, and cookies, complemented by a subtle hint of sea salt and fresh grass. The palate reveals layers of fruit, citrus, gentle anise, honey, and vanilla, complemented by salty and spicy nuances. The finish is harmonious, with orange freshness and honey-spicy notes.
Best enjoyed neat at room temperature to fully develop its terroir and fruity-malty character. Just a few drops of water and the whisky opens up with additional herbal and citrus layers. It is an ideal choice for lovers of authentic Islay production and a beautiful gift with a story of origin.
Bottles are filled with an alcohol content of 50% and a volume of 0.7 l.
