Clonakilty Galley Head

Clonakilty Galley Head is a premium blended Irish whiskey from the Clonakilty distillery, located on the southern coast of Ireland in County Cork. It is inspired by the iconic Galley Head lighthouse, which stands at the edge of the Atlantic Ocean overlooking the local coastline. This location also plays an important role in the aging of the whiskey, as the oceanic climate influences the character of the barrels and the resulting flavor profile.

The Single Pot Still Irish whiskey in this blend is made from barley grown on the family farm of the distillery. It matures at the Clonakilty distillery, where it is then blended with Irish grain whiskey before bottling.

The aroma reveals notes of raspberries and baked green apples, complemented by flavors of raisins with hints of ginger spice and subtle elderflower tones in the finish. This whiskey is of the Irish Whiskey – Bourbon Cask Matured type, consisting of a blend of Single Pot Still and Irish Grain whiskey aged in ex-bourbon casks. The master distiller and blender is Brian Nation.

The finish is pleasantly smooth and fresh with lingering sweetness and light spicy notes. It is best enjoyed neat, with a splash of water, or as part of simple whiskey cocktails. Lovers of Irish whiskey will appreciate it just like other products from the Irish whiskey category.
