Bulleit 95 Rye

Have you ever found yourself wishing it had more rye in it while sipping Bulleit Bourbon? Well you're in luck, they now make their own rye whiskey!

Bulleit Rye is small batch, made with a ratio of 95 % rye and 5 % malted barley. This absolutely magnificent rye whisky won a double gold medal at the 2013 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

On the nose, we can smell lots of cherry and vanilla, with subtle notes of leather and tobacco. The palate is quite spicy at first , as the spices come to the fore in the beginning. Then come peaches, more sour cherries and a small bit of orange peel. The finish is smoky, and the end brought cinnamon, allspice and a hint of candy.

The overall impression of the whisky is that Bulleit Distillery really knows their way around a rye whisky. The bottlings are bottled at 45 % ABV with a 0,7 l capacity.
