Casamigos

The Casamigos brand was founded in 2013 as a result of a friendship between actor George Clooney, entrepreneur Rand Gerber and developer Mike Meldman. It was originally created for their personal consumption, with the goal of making a tequila that was so smooth it wouldn't require salt or lime to mellow the flavor. The name "Casamigos" comes from the Spanish words "casa" (house) and "amigos" (friends), reflecting their shared vision to create a "house of friends". In 2017, the brand was acquired by Diageo for $700 million, with an option for an additional $300 million depending on the brand's performance.

Casamigos focuses on producing ultra-premium tequilas and mezcals in small batches, with an emphasis on quality and traditional production methods. The agave used is 100 % Blue Weber blue agave, which is grown in the rich clay soil of the Jalisco highlands in Mexico. The agave is slow roasted for 72 hours in traditional brick ovens and fermented for 80 hours using a proprietary yeast culture, which contributes to its unique flavor profile. Casamigos tequilas are known for their smoothness and balanced flavor that appeals to a wide range of consumers.
