Glenglassaugh Sandend
Glenglassaugh Sandend is scotch single malt whisky and coming to whisky world as one of those first releases matured at the victorian distillery Glenglassaugh since its reopening in 2008.
The distillery sits on the rugged north Aberdeenshire coast, nestled behind the beautiful surfer's haven, Sandend Bay. Master blender Rachel Barrie has fond childhood memories of time spent at Sandend and even learned to surf there. The coast became the inspiration for this unsmoked whisky, which matured in a combination of bourbon, sherry and manzanilla casks. The aroma-flavor profile is dominated by notes of buttery vanilla ice cream, tropical fruits such as grapefruit and pineapple, cherries, chocolate, salted caramel, but also sea notes from the coastal air.
The whisky is bottled with a 50.5% ABV.
Packaged in a cardboard box and a designer bottle inspired by coastal waves.
